Aussies have a habit of excelling across all fields and literary prowess is no exception.

Check out these top Aussie authors this weekend for the perfect way to wind down after big Australia day celebrations!

Sandie Docker

Aussie author Sandie Docker is best known for her heart-wrenching yet uplifting stories about the moments in life that shape us.

You can catch Sandie at Castle Hill Library on Thursday, February 21, where she will be discussing her latest book, ‘The Cottage at Rosella Cove’. Grab your tickets now!

Christian White

You know a book is good when it wins awards before it’s even been published!

That was the case with Australian author and screenwriter Christian White when his debut novel, ‘The nowhere child’, took out the 2017 Victorian Premier’s Literary Award for an Unpublished Manuscript when it was still in draft form.

The novel, unsurprisingly, became an instant bestseller when it was published last year and more books are on the way!

Kelly Rimmer

Kelly Rimmer, bestselling author of the historical fiction novel ‘The things we cannot say’, which was inspired by her own family history, definitely knows how to pull on the heart strings.

Some her other novels include ‘Before I let you go’, ‘When I lost you’ and ‘The secret daughter’.

Alissa Callen

According to Alissa, her novels can be summed up in four words- dusty roads, secrets and romance.

Specialising in rural and small town fiction, Alissa draws upon her own childhood spent on the family farm when writing.

Her latest book ‘The round yard’ will be available from February 2019.

Kim Kelly

Tales of passion, politics and history is a good way to describe the many novels of Aussie author Kim Kelly. All set in Australia, her stories focus on ordinary people living through extraordinary experiences.

Her eighth novel, Sunshine, is due to be publish in March 2019.

You can find these authors and many more great reads at your local Hills Shire Library branch. Find out more about our libraries at www.thehills.nsw.gov.au.
