Meaning: Lomandra: From Greek loma meaning egde and andros meaning male referring to some species having bordered anthers. multiflora: From Latin meaning multi flowered

Habitat: Heathlands and on sandstone

Flowers: Creamy yellow

Flowering time: Spring

Sun: Grows in full sun to part shade.

Range: NSW coast, ranges and inland. All states except Tasmania. Found in The Hills Shire, generally in sandstone areas.

The strong fibrous leaves were used by indigenous people to make net bags.
