Winter School Holidays Guide

The temperature might be dropping but the activities are definitely heating up this school holidays.

Students will be spoilt for choice this July, with so many new and interesting activities and events to decide between.

With new parks and learn-to-ride bike tracks now open throughout The Hills, as well as the local community nursery to check out, kids won’t know where to start.

The Hills Shire Library Service also has a jam-packed schedule of events, with everything from creative writing workshops to study seminars.

A trip to one of The Hills brand new learn-to-ride bike tracks, located at Crestwood Reserve or Coolong Reserve, is a great choice for younger children, while the older kids can keep their hands busy with the Bush Tucker Workshop at Castle Hill Library.

High school students can get a helping hand with a Mindfulness for Study Seminar –  the ideal way to get them into the right mind frame ahead of the new school term.

Kids of all ages can help their parents choose native plants for their garden. Residents are entitled to four free plants each year and can pick them up from Bidjiwong Community Nursery.

And those with a green thumb can get involved in one of the many Hills Shire Bushcare groups, where kids can learn more about their local parks, native flora and fauna.
