The Hills Shire’s largest summer festival, Summer Series, returns bigger, bolder and brighter in 2017/2018, with more events and activities to keep residents and visitors entertained during the warmer months.
From November through to March, Summer Series will transform the Sydney Hills into a cultural destination filled with non-stop entertainment for foodies, theatre devotees, film fanatics, fashionistas and music lovers.
Park Feast and What the Truck will transform Bella Vista into a foodie haven, with a variety of delicious and salivating culinary options to bite into from Sydney’s most sought-after food trucks.
The Ronald McDonald Family Festival offers the perfect outing for families and friends looking to spend a fun-filled day together, while also contributing to a much-needed cause.
And buildings, streets and laneways of Rouse Hill Town Centre will be touched with Christmas magic that children will be in awe of.
Santa’s Workshop at Bella Vista Farm will bring joy to our youngest residents, with an interactive Christmas themed experience complete with live actors and photo activities for children and pets at the Farm this December.
Summer Series will also see the return of engaging theatre opportunities with Convict Footprints and the much loved Shakespeare in the Park. For those that want an outdoor cinematic experience like no other, the Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema returns in January, complete with waiters, beds, tents and boutique dining.
To complement these events, a series of new music events has been added to the program.
For the first time, the Red Hot Summer Tour will bring 80s artists Suzi Quatro, The Angels, Baby Animals, The Screaming Jets, Moving Pictures and Chocolate Starfish to Bella Vista Farm for a large-scale music concert in February. Others include country, rock and contemporary genres in several events soon to be announced.
The Council’s Australia Day event is always a great addition to Summer Series – last year providing an opportunity for 31,000 people to celebrate our nation’s day and Australia Day in 2018 is looking even better with headliners Rogue Traders and The Voice runner-up and local girl Fasika Ayallew.

The events suit all ages, interests and budgets, with a particular focus on providing remarkable experiences and opportunities for locals and visitors to the area.
It also highlights The Sydney Hills as a great summer destination and offers more accessible and affordable alternatives for residents.
