This week, Council invites you to join in the celebration of our feathered friends with a range of exciting events in honour of National Bird Week. Three fantastic activities have been organised that will not only deepen your appreciation for our Australian birds but also help you understand how you can contribute to the conservation efforts.
1. Aussie Bird Count: Monday 16 October 2023 to Sunday 22 October 2023 11:50pm
The Aussie Bird Count is a delightful way to get involved this National Bird Week. Wildlife Australia is encouraging everyone to participate by counting and recording the birds they spot in their local area or backyard. This simple yet impactful activity allows you to contribute to vital data for bird research and conservation. It’s a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature whilst appreciating the rich birdlife in your surroundings. 2. Bird ID & Photography: Thursday October 19 2023
If you’ve ever been curious about the various species of birds then this event is for you. Join us during National Bird Week for a captivating workshop that will teach you how to identify various bird species. This visual and interactive session will provide insights into the techniques and tools used by birdwatchers and photographers. 3. Breakfast with the Birds: Sunday 22 October 2023 – Wait List
