The Hills Shire Council is offering a range of fun, free workshops to encourage residents to reduce waste and become more sustainable.
With so many free workshops on offer, there’s something for everyone!
Our Organic Garden Workshop will teach you how to nurture soil, plant seasonally, create natural fertilisers and pest remedies, compost and worm farm to create a natural and abundant garden.
Our hands on Soap Making Workshop will provide you with the skills to avoid waste and make your own soap at home.
In the Composting and Worm Farming Workshop you will learn how to keep food waste out of your red lidded bin and recycle it into nutrient rich compost and liquid fertiliser as well as the basics of backyard composting and worm farming, and the resulting benefits for your garden.
Our creative Up-cycling Workshop will give you the opportunity to make a recycled beaded garden chime and recycled garden owl while learning how to avoid waste and re-use every day items to create works of art for your garden.
Learn about the benefits of growing your own food in your backyard, composting and worm farming, reducing waste and saving big on our Sustainable Food and Garden Tour where you will see examples of organic gardening, working compost bins and worm farms and visit a permaculture nursery.
Our Living with Less: De-cluttering Workshop will provide you with hints and tips on how to de- clutter your space, live with less and sustainably remove and manage your oversupply.
Create your own indoor paradise at our Terrarium Making Workshop! Terrariums are a great way to add some greenery into your space, and they make great, handmade gifts.
